Cannondale has updated its Synapse<\/a> endurance road platform for 2022, introducing an integrated SmartSense light and sensor system, and clearance for up to 35mm nominal-width tyres.<\/p>\n

Cannondale<\/a> partnered with Lezyne<\/a> for the lights and uses an adapted version of Garmin\u2019s Varia radars<\/a>. The electronics run off a down tube-mounted battery with a claimed maximum run time of 20 hours.<\/p>\n

There are six sizes available and the new Synapse\u2019s geometry has been kept as close as possible to its predecessors, but comfort is said to have been improved.<\/p>\n

Cannondale says the frame has been given subtle aero touches too, taking cues from the brand\u2019s SuperSix EVO<\/a> race bike and SystemSix aero road bike<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Cannondale says it has achieved the same frame weight (minus the SmartSense system) as the previous version of the Synapse. However, with the SmartSense system included, a size 58cm Synapse Carbon RL 2 weighs 9.89kg.<\/p>\n
