On 11 August, landscape designer Dan Pearson OBE will be presented with the Beatrix Farrand Achievement Award by the Beatrix Farrand Society.

Previous recipients of the award include Piet Oudolf, Laurie Olin, Betsy Barlow Rogers, Diana Balmori and Tom Woltz.

The Beatrix Farrand Society is a non-profit organisation dedicated to preserving the legacy of the renowned American landscape architect Beatrix Farrand (1872-1959) and her garden, Garland Farm, in Maine, USA.

After receiving the award, Dan will talk about his career as a garden and landscape designer and will outline some of his current projects, including the Tokachi Millenium Forest on the Japanese Island of Hokkaido.

He will also touch on his proposals for the Dartington Trust in Devon, where Beatrix Farrand worked from 1934 to 1939. It is the only example of Beatrix Farrand’s work outside of the United States.

The achievement award lecture is free and open to the public, and can also be watched free on Zoom.
