The King arrived at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show this year to award medals and look at the gardens
After much speculation over whether he would turn up at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show, King Charles III did indeed arrive for a tour around the show ground.
There are lots of royal celebrations at the Show this year, including royal tributes celebrating the life of Queen Elizabeth II and the coronation of HM King Charles III.
The Queen loved Chelsea Flower Show and visited 50 times over the course of her 70 year reign. This year King Charles visited to award three medals: the Elizabeth Medal of Honour to designer Piet Oudolf, Baroness Janet Fookes DBE and environmental champion Judy Ling Wong CBE. They were the first recipients of the honour. He even got a hug from one of the designers.
