This year’s Best In Show at RHS Chelsea Flower Show has been announced, with the A Rewilding Britain Landscape, designed by Lulu Urquhart and Adam Hunt, being named as the winner.

The design duo received a gold medal for the garden, which celebrates the transformation of land through the reintroduction of beavers. It is the second year in the row that Urquhart and Hunt have received the top prize for their garden.

The garden uses UK native plants, with West Country stone and reclaimed timber and evokes the South West of England, complete with a beaver dam.

The RHS Chair of Judges James Alexander Sinclair said: “It’s exciting to be back at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in May, and while all of this year’s gardens are sensational, a few really stood out. It was a hard-fought debate between the members of the judging panel to decide which garden to award Best in Show. In the end, all the judges were captivated by the skill, endeavour and charm of A Rewilding Britain Landscape – every step is exquisite.”

Elsewhere, the Best Construction Award in the Show Garden category went to the MEDITE SMARTPLY, Building the Future garden, designed by Sarah Eberle. It was the 13th medal for the designer and the 101st garden build by Mark Gregory’s Landform Consultants. The garden uses sustainable construction materials and features a waterfall.

Kate Gould’s garden Out of the Shadows won Best Construction in the Sanctuary Gardens category.
