As part of our 30th birthday celebrations, the team looked back on some of their favourite covers. <\/p>

This April, we\u2019re celebrating 30 years since the first issue of Gardens Illustrated<\/em><\/a> was published. As part of the festivities, we asked our team to look back and choose some of their favourite covers of all time, here are the results.<\/p>\n

Issue 01 \u2013 April\/May 1993<\/h3>\n
The first issue of Gardens Illustrated<\/em> was published in April 1993 with Rosie Atkins as editor. It cost \u00a32.95 and highlights of the issue included:<\/p>\n
A piece about Gertrude Jekyll by Penelope Hobhouse.<\/a><\/li>\n
An exploration of gardening in the nineties.<\/li>\n
A feature written by Jamie Compton, who is still the botanical advisor for GI.<\/li>\n
