From this fearful place, he looked at how plants can reshape a harsh, wasteland landscape. \u201cIt\u2019s a beautiful metaphor for the resilience of the HIV story but also as horticulturists and gardeners, it feeds into how our gardens need to cope with changing climates.\u201d <\/p><div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\"><div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gardensillustrated.com\/chelsea-flower-show\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Head to our Chelsea Flower Show hub page for all the latest coverage<\/strong><\/a><\/div><\/div><p>From a sunken pool at the front, the garden\u2019s contours rise to an area of scree \u2013 typical of the free-draining, rocky conditions found in a quarry \u2013 planted with small, alpine treasures, such as Raoulia subsericea and Sisyrinchium \u2018Quaint and Queer\u2019, strewn amid <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gardensillustrated.com\/garden-advice\/how-to\/how-to-make-a-rock-garden\">rocks<\/a> and crevices. The garden continues up to a terrace with a dry-stone-walled shelter that uses reclaimed and by-product stone and is enclosed by lush planting and trees. \u201cI\u2019m looking forward to the hands-on experience of this garden. Quite a lot is being created by artisans on site \u2013 going back to traditional skills such as woodworking and stone masonry.
