With a thriller, a filler and a spiller you\u2019ll have a winning combination for any pot<\/a>. Sarah Raven herself shares how:<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen putting together our container collections I follow two overlapping recipes. First, I think about colour, and go for harmony with everything in the same colour, or contrast, when I usually select two plants from the same colour palette and one from another, for as strong a difference as possible.<\/p>\n

Next, I think about form and choose a crowd-pleaser, the thriller, then a quieter sidekick, the filler, then a trailer to soften the edge of the pot, the spiller.<\/p>\n
