This month we are celebrating heritage – from longstanding businesses such as fabrics brand Warner House where we delve into the company’s 150-year history, to the prestigious Royal Warrants scheme. And, of course, as always, our homes are filled with heritage, from the history packed into their foundations – as in a Tudor manor house in Dorset – to the wonderful inherited pieces furnishing them. We also take a tour of a handful of homes belonging to eminent Victorians across the UK, and Willa Latham continues her series of British ceramics companies, this month stopping in Worcester. Meanwhile Caroline Wheater writes about the thrill of the country house sale, and chats to auctioneers from Bonhams, Dreweatts and Duke’s about some of their most exciting sales.
