Easter Sunday is filled with traditions, one of them being the delicious roast dinner enjoyed with friends and family. And with such a feast prepared and offered to guests, it seems only fitting the table you eat at should be just as impressive.

Decorating your Easter table is easier than you might think. Whether you prefer something simple and elegant, want to make the most of your blue and white ceramics, or you’re getting in to the Easter spirit with fun decorations and a seasonal colour palette, there are few easy but effective ways to elevate your table decor.

From block-printed table cloths to pretty plates and themed decorations, here are some fun, seasonal Easter table ideas…

4 Easter table ideas

Opt for rustic elegance

If you prefer a more rustic table setting, make the most of the natural wood tones by ditching the table linens.

Instead, use place mats and matching napkins, as shown here (this boxing hare print from Sophie Allport is perfect for Easter), and add a pretty Spring centrepiece.

We love the addition of planted daffodils surrounded by tapered candles, or for something more creative, use your Easter tree as the focal point of your design.

Decorate with blue & white

A hit since its 14th-century European debut, blue and white porcelain has never fallen out of fashion.

Smart yet pretty, this perfect colour combination has inspired a wealth of invention including iconic designs from the likes of Spode, Burleigh and Wedgwood.

Layer up designs from different eras this Easter, including antique pieces from your collection, for a table setting with a relaxed and eclectic feel.

For a more formal look, commit to a single design – though with so many options, choosing just one might be a challenge!

Have fun with your napkins

To add interest to your Easter table, why not make a feature of your napkins?

There are plenty of ways you can do this, whether you choose a fun, fan design, these napkins tied into cute bunny ears, or for the more artistically skilled among us, why not try your hand at napkin origami?

Not only are they a more unique way of displaying your napkins, but they can add an extra touch of Easter spirit, too.

Incorporate nature into your centrepiece

For a unique centrepiece that captures the joy of spring, fill faux birds’ nests with pretty Easter eggs, either edible or decorative, and surround with dried grasses and seasonal greenery.

Choose one large nest or scatter lots of small ones to create a garland feel – mixing different colours and shades of eggs will add interest and allow you to make the most of all the pretty decorations in your collection.
