The famous Frans Hals painting\u00a0<\/span>The Laughing Cavalier\u00a0<\/span><\/i>has gone on display in The Wallace Collection<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>following the launch of\u00a0<\/span>its\u00a0<\/span>new exhibition in September, in collaboration with men\u2019s health charity\u00a0<\/span>Movember<\/span><\/a>. One of\u00a0<\/span>Hals\u2019<\/span>\u00a0most beloved paintings from 1624, this new exhibition is the first time the painting has been showcased with other works by the artist.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Wallace Collection<\/a> is a significant location for the exhibition\u00a0<\/span>\u2013<\/span>\u00a0the founder, the 4<\/span>th<\/span>\u00a0Marquess of Hertfordshire, famously purchased the painting in 1865 for more than six times the estimated price, consequently increasing the artwork\u2019s value.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
