The highs & lows of life on the mag

Will journeyed to sunny Barcelona for the launch of Galfer’s new Disc Shark brake rotor, taking in the La Poma and La Sorrera bike parks with slopestyle pro Lukas Knopf (see DNA on p30).

The Cycle Show 2022, at the new venue of London’s Alexandra Palace, was a roaring success, with great attendance and some fab kit on display. Keep your eyes peeled for a retro Superbike feature soon.

With Bike of the Year done and dusted, Tom spent his bank holiday popping from berm to berm on his longterm Revel Ranger, before swapping 2.5in rubber for something much narrower, as he packed his bikepacking bags and headed out to ride a portion of the European Divide trail on his gravel bike. Starting from Barcelona, he’s aiming to end up somewhere in northern Germany, or possibly even Denmark.

GT Viris news: The MBUKbacked team had a great time at Rheola for the Gravity Events DH, as 13-year-old Felix Griffiths ended up on the Juvenile podium. A great start to the season for the lads.

Unfortunately, we won’t be making the pilgrimage up to the Fort William World Cup this year, as there isn’t space for our usual stand. We’re sad to miss the incredible atmosphere but will be glued to Red Bull TV watching the action. (If you’re keen to catch us soon, don’t despair – we’ll be at the GT Malverns Classic bike festival later in the summer, with plenty of new merch and a great subs offer.)
