Our Bike of <\/strong>the Year test is always a massive undertaking, not least when the industry is having major supply-chain issues. And this year we decided to make things even harder for ourselves by adding a third category, e-MTBs. We pondered adding hardtails, too, but the way the market is, the bikes that did well would likely have sold out by the time we went to press. I\u2019d like to say a big thanks to Rob, Tom and Alex for the countless miles they put in, in all weathers, and to Jess, Will P and Rach for their help with our final testing at BikePark Wales. We hope you enjoy reading this year\u2019s guide, whether you\u2019re in the market for a new ride or just a sucker for the latest gear!<\/p>\n\n

Talking about new tech, this issue we\u2019ve also got a guide to the best upgrades, whether you\u2019re flush with cash or scraping together the pennies (well, quids). Plus, we go on a hardtail adventure in Wales, check out an XC race through Rwanda and hop on the train to hit up some sweet Isle of Wight singletrack. Whatever riding you\u2019re into, there\u2019s something to get you stoked to ride \u2013 see you on the trails!<\/p>\n\n
