The biggest names in cinema are headed to London tonight as the winners of the BAFTA Film Awards 2023 are finally revealed – and suffice to say, it’s a very competitive year.

All eyes are on the Best Film category, where the variety of nominees is perhaps the most striking thing, including genre-bending multiverse trip Everything Everywhere All at Once and war drama All Quiet on the Western Front.

The acting awards have also been hotly contested this year, with Michelle Yeoh and Cate Blanchett emerging as favourites for Leading Actress, the latter earning acclaim for her portrayal of a troubled composer in Tár.

On the other hand, Leading Actor is too close to call, with Austin Butler (Elvis), Colin Farrell (The Banshees of Inisherin) and Brendan Fraser (The Whale) receiving recognition elsewhere, but we wouldn’t rule out an upset from Aftersun‘s Paul Mescal.

Continuing a theme of this year’s awards season, the BAFTAs is also recognising blockbuster fare, with Angela Bassett in the running for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, while Top Gun: Maverick is dominating the technical categories.

Whether or not your favourites take home their prizes, you can at least enjoy some top quality hosting, with the ever-watchable Richard E Grant and Alison Hammond on hand to provide some laughs.

Read on for a list of all the nominees at the BAFTA Film Awards 2023, with the winners in bold to show their success.
