Old Trafford plays host to the first Manchester derby of the 2023/24 Premier League season on Sunday as Man Utd host Man City.

The last time the two fierce rivals met was on the hallowed turf of Wembley in June as Pep Guardiola’s side won 2-1 to move one step closer to a historic treble. Erik ten Hag’s side will be out for some revenge this weekend, buoyed by their home win over the Cityzens last season and their midweek Champions League dramatics.

Harry Maguire’s redemption continued as he headed in the winner against FC Copenhagen while the Red Devils will hope that the stoppage-time penalty save can prove the turning point in André Onana’s Old Trafford career.

The hosts will need that pair to be at their best if they’re to get a result against Pep Guardiola’s side, who may not quite have reached top gear this term but are still a frightening proposition.

Man City are two points back from league leaders Tottenham in second, top of their Champions League group with three wins in three, and welcomed vital midfield cog Rodri back from suspension last weekend. Ominous signs for Sunday’s hosts.
