What is Kindle Unlimited?
Kindle Unlimited gives you access to over 1 million titles, thousands of audiobooks and selected magazine subscriptions on any device. Launched back in 2014, what was once a supplementary service for bookworms is now a booming digital book subscription service.
A simply way to think of the service is as Netflix for books. Where as typically you’ll make a one-off payment for a book in the Kindle store, the Unlimited service gives you temporary custodianship of selected titles – and you don’t even need a Kindle. More on that in a bit.

How does Kindle Unlimited work?
The sign-up process is all very simple via the Kindle Unlimited webpage – you might argue that Amazon is making it as easy for you as possible.
All you need to do is sign up to the monthly fee (you can cancel at any time) and the books will be ready for you! You just choose a title, click download, and within seconds it’s there to read on any device.
Speaking of devices, like we said, a Kindle isn’t actually essential to take advantage of Kindle Unlimited. Is Kindle Unlimited included in Amazon Prime?
No, Kindle Unlimited is not included in Amazon Prime membership. A Prime subscription includes many other perks, though, such as same-day and next-day delivery options, access to exclusive deals, and streaming services such as Prime Video and Amazon Music. Kindle Unlimited is a separate subscription service available on Amazon, which means it is not necessary to have a Prime account. And while you can’t get it with Prime, it is included when you buy a Kindle.
