Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is almost here, but you may have already made your way through its campaign during MW3‘s early access.
For those wanting to look back at what they’ve accomplished, see how far you’ve got to go or are simply curious, we’ve got all the campaign levels and how many to expect during your time chasing after Vladimir Makarov, alongside the characters comprised of the MW3 cast.
You might be curious about how long MW3 is, as well as how it fits into the CoD timeline – so be sure to have little looks there too.
On release, we’ll finally get to play the MW3 multiplayer mode and relive our youth on revitalised classic MW2 2009 maps.
If you live in an eligible country, you could pick up some unique MW3 Burger King skins, as well.
That’s so long as you can play it, that is – find out if your computer can handle it by checking out the minimum and recommended PC specs.
There are quite a few linear and open-ended missions awaiting you, so read on down to see what each mission is like.
How many missions are in the CoD MW3 campaign?
There are 15 missions in the CoD MW3 campaign.
Throughout the campaign, which brings back classic CoD baddie Makarov, you’ll be whisked around the globe as Task Force 141 in an effort to track down and stop the ultranationalist war criminal.
Makarov is insistent on beginning World War 3, and that’s big no no, so he needs to be stopped before all hell breaks loose.
During the story missions, you’ll fight in traditional linear CoD singleplayer gameplay alongside ‘Open Combat Missions’ which allow you to approach your objectives in whatever way you like.
Completing each campaign mission will reward you with multiplayer goodies such as new Operators, XP Tokens, Weapon XP Tokens and Calling Cards – if you didn’t have reason enough as it was to complete them in order to witness the story.

The full list of CoD MW3 campaign missions is as follows (in completion order), along with the awards you get upon completion on any difficulty:
- Operation 627 – Breather Calling Card
- Precious Cargo – 30 minutes of Double XP Tokens for player and weapons
- Reactor – Corso Operator
- Payload – Ghillie Guy Calling Card
- Deep Cover – 30 minutes of Double XP Tokens for player and weapons
- Passenger – None
- Crash Site – Pathfinder Operator
- Flashpoint – Toxic Drop Calling Card
- Oligarch – One hour Double XP Tokens for player and weapons
- Highrise – Doc Operator
- Frozen Tundra – Skull Rhapsody Calling Card
- Gora Dam – One hour Double XP Tokens for player and weapons
- Danger Close – Jabber Operator
- Trojan Horse – Soapy Emblem
- Countdown – Borogue Weapon Blueprint
Some of the missions will take longer to complete than others, and those ‘Open Combat Missions’ in particular should take up your time spent in the campaign in direct follow-up to the events of 2022’s Modern Warfare 2.
Now, get out there and bring Task Force 141 the victory the world sorely needs against Makarov and his nefarious plans.
