The Irish presenter takes on the Argentine tango this weekend.
Angela Scanlon will be performing the Argentine tango at the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom as Strictly Come Dancing reaches its hugely-anticipated Week 9.
The broadcaster and dance partner Carlos Gu will give us their tango to Back to Black by Amy Winehouse on the historic dance floor, known for its bouncy effect as it’s supported underneath by springy wooden strips.
Last weekend, the couple impressed with their waltz to With You I’m Bored Again by Billy Preston and Syreeta, scoring 33 points on the leaderboard – which placed them fourth, just behind Nigel Harman and Katya Jones.
This topped their dance in Week 7, for which they scored a modest 27 points with their samba to Jennifer Lopez’s Ain’t It Funny, having dazzled during Halloween Week with their slick paso doble to BLACK swan SWAN lake by District 78, scoring a very respectable 33 points.
Angela and Carlos will no doubt be hoping to top their highest score of the competition so far of 35 points – which they received with a show-stopping Charleston. Can they do it this weekend with their Argentine tango? Will the added bounce of the dance floor give them an extra spring in their step?
We’ll have to tune in this weekend to find out!
