Jürgen Klopp and Liverpool can expect a frosty reception at Turf Moor on Boxing Day.

The Liverpool boss labelled Burnley “a great place to celebrate Christmas” in a dig at the Clarets and the hectic festive Premier League schedule earlier in December, so isn’t likely to be well received by the locals.

The Reds have, for the most part, enjoyed making the short trip to east Lancashire in recent years, and will be hoping to make it six wins on the bounce at Turf Moor to aid their title challenge.

Burnley are battling at the other end of the Premier League, and their progressive style has meant they have struggled against the top flight’s bigger clubs since winning promotion from the Championship last term.

With tough games against Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City to come before the end of January, as well as a six-pointer versus Luton, getting anything from the game would be a real boost for the Clarets.
