The Stuttgart Open will pit the finest players on the WTA Tour against one another, as the chasing pack gaze longingly up at dominant rankings leader Iga Świątek.

The Polish superstar won at Indian Wells last month to top up her balance, and has opened up clear daylight at the top of the WTA Rankings.

Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff trail in her wake, and the gap could extend during the clay-court season due to Świątek’s record on the surface.

Emma Raducanu will hope to make the most of her wildcard entry into the tournament as the only British representative.
