If you’re looking to jump into a time machine and escape to the Costa del Sol of the 1980s, Sky TV’s latest drama A Town Called Malice could be the answer.

The eight-part series follows a family of British gangsters who ditch the UK for a fresh start and is a love letter to ’80s music, with plenty of ’80s bangers, from Bowie and Bon Jovi to Blondie and Bananarama, and frequent musical interludes.

Speaking about the importance of A Town Called Malice’s soundtrack, creator Nick Love (The Football Factory, The Firm) previously said: “Across the series there are occasions where characters break into song and dance, blurring the lines between reality and fantasy, inviting the audience to step foot into the POV of our most striking and sometimes our most heinous characters.”

He continued: “Music is a key component in telling our story and getting beneath the veneer of our central characters.”
