Everything you need to know about the action crime drama’s upcoming season.
FBI: Most Wanted fans, assemble: season 5 is only a few months away.
A popular spinoff of FBI, FBI: Most Wanted focuses on the work of the FBI’s Fugitive Task Force, the men and women whose job it is to track down those pesky criminals who have gone on the run and are listed on the FBI’s infamous Most Wanted list.
Season 5 will see Dylan McDermott return as Remy Scott, while Roxy Sternberg and Keisha Castle-Hughes are also expected to be back as former NYPD detective Sheryll Barnes and hacker/intelligence analyst Hana, respectively.
Unfortunately, not every series regular is set to return.
It was confirmed earlier this year that fan favourite character Special Agent Kristin Gaines – as played by Alexa Davalos – will not be returning for the fifth season.
Davalos, who has played Gaines since season 3, was informed by a producer on set that she won’t be coming back after filming her last season 4 scene, according to Deadline.
There was no hint in the season 4 finale that Davalos’ character would not be returning.
In other casting news, Shantel VanSanten will be moving from FBI and taking on the role of Special Agent Nina Chase in FBI: Most Wanted season 5, with her character described as a skilled GBI agent.

FBI: Most Wanted season 5 release date
Following the conclusion of the US actors’ and writers’ strikes, season 5 will premiere on Tuesday, 13th February 2024 at 10pm ET/PT on CBS, it has been confirmed.
It will also become available to stream on Paramount Plus.
FBI: Most Wanted season 5 cast: Who’s returning?
Team leader Remy Scott (played by Dylan McDermott) is sure to be back, and we would also expect to see:
- Roxy Sternberg as second-in-command Sheryll Barnes
- Keisha Castle-Hughes as intelligence analyst Hana Gibson
- Edwin Hodge as sniper Ray Cannon
Unfortunately, fan favourite character Special Agent Kristin Gaines – as played by Alexa Davalos – will not be returning for the fifth season, it has been confirmed.
Newcomers to the season 5 cast include Shantel VanSanten, who will be moving from FBI and taking on the role of Special Agent Nina Chase in FBI: Most Wanted season 5.
The actress, who is also known for her roles in The Boys, For All Mankind and One Tree Hill, joined the franchise in FBI season 4 and appeared throughout season 5. Her character is described as a skilled GBI agent.
FBI: Most Wanted season 5 plot: What will happen?
Not much is known at this point about the potential plots for season 5, but one story thread from season 4 will no doubt be explored – Remy’s new relationship with his nephew.
In the season 4 finale, Remy finally discovered that his brother Mikey had been killed by one of his own friends in Ft Lauderdale 25 years before during spring break – and he also learned that his brother’s girlfriend had been pregnant at the time of Mikey’s death.
Remy met Mikey’s now-grown up son Corey for the first time, and it’s likely we’ll see more of their relationship as season 5 progresses.
