It’s been almost six years since Paddington 2 became an instant family classic – and now we finally know when the beloved Peruvian bear’s next adventure will be arriving in UK cinemas.

Paddington 3 – which is officially titled Paddington in Peru – will be released in November 2024, and will once again find Ben Whishaw voicing everyone’s favourite marmalade fanatic as he and the Brown family head to the bear’s home country.

As well as returning faces such as Hugh Bonneville, Julie Walters and Jim Broadbent, there are also some exciting A-list additions to the cast in the shape of Olivia Colman and Antonio Banderas, while Emily Mortimer replaces Sally Hawkins as Mrs Brown.

Meanwhile, Dougal Wilson takes over the directorial reigns from Paul King – who turned his attention to the upcoming Wonka film after helming the first two entries in the franchise.

Speaking as the released date was announced, first-time feature director Wilson said: “It’s been a joy and an honour to shoot Paddington in Peru with such a wonderful and talented cast and crew.

“I feel incredibly lucky to have been blessed with such a lovely group of people, many of whom have returned to the world of this beloved bear.

“We are also delighted to have welcomed Emily, Olivia, Antonio and Carla [Tous] to the Paddington family.”

When will Paddington 3 be released in cinemas?

It’s official: barring any unforeseen delays, Paddington in Peru will arrive in UK cinemas on Friday 8th November 2024.

That means there’s little over a year to wait before we’re reunited with the lovable bear and his adoptive family – let’s hope this entry is just as delightful as the previous two.
