We’re just 13 games into the new Premier League season and already the race for the Golden Boot is starting to shape up.

Erling Haaland, who broke the long-standing record the most goals in a single season when he netted 36 last year, looks like he’s on track to break his own record. The Norwegian has already scored 14 and he has his eyes set on retaining the award.

He’ll be expected to do so, and not many will bet against him, but there’s plenty of other players making their mark.

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has hit double figures, while Tottenham’s Son Heung-Min is starting to reclaim his once fine form with eight goals.

West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen is also on eight goals, with Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins and Newcastle forwards Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak are next up with seven goals.

Wolves’ Hwang Hee-chan, Bryan Mbeumo of Brentford, Bournemouth ace Dominic Solanke, Brighton youngster Evan Ferguson and Chelsea hitman Nicolas Jackson are all next on the list with six goals.

Fans across the land will be intrigued to chart the progress of the hottest goalscorers in the top flight with the campaign in full swing.

Who will win the Premier League Golden Boot 2023/24?

It’s all set to be a one-horse race in 2023/24. Haaland is comfortably the top striker in the league in the absence of Harry Kane and a strong start has placed him in pole position.

Haaland’s obvious benefit is that he is the prime benefactor of a huge stockpile of ammunition provided by City’s all-star creative forces behind him.

Dark horse contenders include perennial top scorer chart contender Mohamed Salah and Tottenham’s Son Heung-Min. Ivan Toney’s ban rules him out of contention despite great promise following last season’s haul.

Premier League top scorers in history

  1. Alan Shearer – 260 goals (441 games)
  2. Harry Kane – 213 goals (320 games)
  3. Wayne Rooney – 208 goals (491 games)
