Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 release date
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 is available to pre-order now. The smartphone will be officially released on 27th August.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 price: how much does the smartphone cost?
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 will cost £949. And while it is still admittedly a lot of money, that’s a good £280 less than the older Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G model that was released last year.
It is also the cheaper of Samsung’s two new foldable phones. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is considerably more expensive at £1,599.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 specs: what does the Samsung smartphone look like?
Design
Marketed as Samsung’s ‘stylish’ option, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 2 will be available in seven colours. These are; Phantom Black, Green, Lavender, Cream, White, Pink and Grey.
Like with the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, the brand has focused its attention on improving the durability of the Z Flip 3. Both smartphones come with IPX8-rated water resistance, which is the highest standard on any foldable phone.
The hinge has also been upgraded. Now made from a material Samsung calls ‘Armor Aluminium’, the hinge is 10% more durable than on the Z Flip 3’s predecessor. It is also lighter.
Display
The main display on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 is a 6.7-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X with an excellent 120Hz refresh rate. That’s a big improvement from the 60Hz refresh rate found on the Galaxy Z Flip.
This display comes with a new protective film that is 80% more durable than on the previous generation, and there’s Gorilla Glass Victus across the cover display.
The big difference is with the display on the cover. Now 1.9-inches, the outer Infinity Flex Display is four times bigger than on the original Z Flip. This should make the display much more user-friendly and makes notifications easier to read, and it now enables you to pay with Samsung Pay without even opening the phone.
Camera
Along with the 10MP front selfie camera, there is a dual-camera set-up on the rear of the smartphone. These two cameras are covered by Gorilla Glass with DX for extra protection. This set-up is made up of two 12MP cameras; one wide-angle and one Ultra Wide.
