Claudia Winkleman will be welcoming a new bunch of contestants to the Scottish Highlands for season 2.
It seems like just yesterday that the nation was swept up in The Traitors pandemonium and the year has certainly brought us many iterations of the show, but nothing quite beats the original, does it?
While there is a US and Australian version (as well as rumours of an all-stars series), the second season of The Traitors UK could very well be landing on our screens very soon.
The brutal reality competition became a word-of-mouth hit and started off with 22 contestants arriving at a castle in the Scottish Highlands for a high-stakes game of wink murder.
Over the course of the evening, the Faithfuls tried their hardest to banish the remaining Traitors from the show and win up to £250,000.
So, with new The Traitors clues sending fans into a tailspin, could this mean The Traitors season 2 will be airing before the end of 2023?
Here’s everything we know so far about The Traitors season 2.
Is there a The Traitors season 2 trailer?
While we don’t yet have a full trailer for The Traitors UK season 2, we do now have our first teaser!
A new snippet was aired just before Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday 28th October, as well as a mysterious hooded figure featuring in some of the scenes in Strictly’s Halloween Week.
Of course, Traitors presenter Claudia Winkleman also presents Strictly alongside Tess Daly so fans were quick to take to Twitter (which has rebranded as X) to air their excitement over this unexpected crossover.

Will The Traitors be back for season 2?
Yes! The news of the series renewal was announced back in February 2023, two months after the first season ended with a shocking betrayal and a huge revelation for the Faithfuls.
The new season will see Winkleman at the helm of the show once more, alongside a new group of 22 contestants who will enter the castle to take on the ultimate game of trust and treachery in the hopes of winning £120,000.
Upon the announcement, Winkleman said: “I can’t wait to go back to the castle to watch people play the greatest game on television. I’m knitting a high funnel sweater immediately.”
The Traitors season 2 release date speculation
In a video posted to Twitter at the time of the series renewal announcement, Winkleman encouraged potential contestants to apply, asking: “Can you spot a liar? Could you betray those around you? How would you fare at the round table?”
Seeing as a new mysterious clip aired at the end of October, there definitely seems to be something in store soon so that could mean that season 2 could follow a similar release pattern as last year’s and air in December.
As of yet, nothing is official so keep your eyes peeled.
The Traitors season 2 cast
There’s been no word about who could be joining the cast for this year.
While things have been kept under wraps about who we can expect to join the show in the second season, we do know that some season 1 stars are hoping for a future all-stars edition of The Traitors.
Speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com at this year’s National Television Awards, The Traitors winners Hannah Byczkowski and Meryl Williams and one of the series Traitors, Wilfred Webster, spoke about whether or not they’re going to tune into the new season of the show.
Meryl remarked: “We want an all-stars, they want to bring us back!”
Wilfred also said: “We want an all-stars but we will watch it, of course. We support them, they’ve changed our lives. I’ll be jealous but it’ll be nice to sit down and watch it not knowing what’s going to happen, so that’ll be good.”
We do also know that unlike the Australian and American versions of the show, The Traitors season 2 won’t feature any celebrity contestants, the BBC confirmed to RadioTimes.com. While Friends star Courtney Cox teased being interested in appearing, it looks as though the format of having regular people on the show will stay the same in season 2.
