Premier League rivals Chelsea and Newcastle United face off in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals on Tuesday night.
The Blues, who have won the competition five times, know that the Carabao Cup or the FA Cup are their only chances to win silverware this season, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side struggling to find form in the Premier League.
Chelsea come into Tuesday’s clash on the back of their 2-0 win against Sheffield United at Stamford Bridge, which moved them up to 10th in the league – the Blues are still 12 points off the top four.
Newcastle were knocked out of the Champions League last week, but they bounced back in the league on Saturday after beating Fulham 3-0, with Lewis Miley, Miguel Almirón and Dan Burn all scoring.
The victory, which moved Newcastle up to sixth in the league, came at a cost, however, with Fabian Schär and Joelinton limping off to add to Eddie Howe’s lengthy injury list.
