Manchester City return to Premier League action with a testing trip to Goodison Park to face Everton on Wednesday evening.

The festive schedule has been more hectic for Man City than most, as the 2022/23 Champions League winners took a short break from domestic football to fly out to Saudi Arabia for the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup.

A rocky recent run, with just one Premier League win since the start of November, and postponed games due to their global commitments, has seen them lose ground in the title race – so Pep Guardiola will be determined to avoid a slip-up on Merseyside.

That will be easier said than done against an Everton side that have rediscovered their identity under Sean Dyche this season.

If anything, they’ve come on even stronger since their 10-point deduction back in November, and they’ll view Wednesday evening as a chance to move another step back towards where they deserve to be – battling in the top half of the Premier League.
