Two heavyweights of European football meet at Lambeau Field in Wisconsin on Saturday night (or the early hours of Sunday morning if you’re watching the UK) to cap off their pre-season tours of the United States.

Premier League title winners Manchester City take on Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich in what is both clubs’ final game before the 2022/23 campaign officially gets underway.

Pep Guardiola’s side are due to fly back to England for their Community Shield clash with Liverpool while Bayern will head back to Germany for their DFL-Supercup final against RB Leipzig.

The pair have had similar summers in terms of transfers – with club legends departing and big-money signings arriving – as they look to continue to evolve and maintain their recent trophy-winning form.

This is of course pre-season and neither side will quite be at full throttle but it represents a useful opportunity for both coaches to see their players take on some of the best in the world.

The pair have not met in a competitive fixture since 2014 but there have been a fair few pre-season meetings since and their latest will come at Lambeau Field this weekend.
