Manchester City are bidding to rack up a ninth consecutive win in the Women’s Super League when they host Everton this weekend.
The latest victory in their hot streak came at title rivals Chelsea last weekend, as Khadija Shaw’s first-half effort was enough to claim all three points and move City level with the reigning champions at the summit.
While the hosts are bidding to secure the WSL title for the first time since 2016, Everton are struggling in the bottom half of the table after a recent losing streak.
The Toffees head to the Joie Stadium in winning form, however, after Martina Piemonte and Aurora Galli bagged late goals in a 2-0 home victory against West Ham last Sunday.
City’s strong home form makes them the hot favourites to claim all three points, and Gareth Taylor’s side are also looking to complete the double after a 4-1 victory in last December’s reverse fixture – in which Shaw hit a hat-trick.
