League One’s top two are set to battle it out in front of the Sky Sports cameras under the Monday night lights.

A return of 42 points from 19 games means Portsmouth head into the crunch clash at the summit and they are seeking a third win in a row after bouncing back from last month’s 4-0 defeat to Blackpool – their first and only of the campaign – in fine style.

A victory would see Pompey build a healthy advantage but Bolton, who have a game in hand, will leapfrog their promotion rivals if they claim all three points at Fratton Park and they will fancy their chances having won five of their eight away games this season.

The Trotters are also unbeaten in their last 11 games in all competitions and they have kept five clean sheets on the spin in league action.

Bolton boss Ian Evatt will fancy his side’s chances of extending their mean defensive record as Portsmouth will be without top scorer Colby Bishop, who suffered an ankle injury in Pompey’s win at Burton last month.
