Liverpool will be hoping for another Champions League miracle on Wednesday night as they face Real Madrid in the second leg of their last-16 showdown with the Spanish side boasting a three-goal lead.

The Reds went 2-0 up at Anfield in the first leg last month – however, Real bounced back and ran out 5-2 winners.

Liverpool have previous of turning around a major deficit in the Champions League. Reds fans will be hoping for a repeat of the 2005 final in Istanbul or their stunning win against Barcelona at Anfield in 2019.

Jurgen Klopp’s men come into this on the back of their surprise 1-0 defeat at Bournemouth on Saturday, which followed their 7-0 hammering of Manchester United at Anfield the week before.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, beat Espanyol 3-1 on Saturday, although they’re nine points behind Barcelona in the title race. Therefore, Carlo Ancelotti’s men will have their focus on winning consecutive Champions League trophies.
