There should be plenty of thrills and spills at the Stadium of Light on the opening weekend of the Championship campaign, as Sunderland host Ipswich Town.

The youthful Black Cats – inspired by Manchester United loanee Amad Diallo – were one of the Championship’s great entertainers last season, while Ipswich racked up 101 goals on their way to promotion from League One.

Experienced boss Tony Mowbray guided Sunderland to the play-offs in 2022/23 and the club’s ownership have doubled down on their strategy of signing hot prospects, with Jude Bellingham’s brother Jobe among their summer arrivals.

Kieran McKenna has transformed Ipswich’s fortunes in the space of 18 months, and the young manager has further bolstered his ranks by signing midfielder Jack Taylor and forward George Hirst in this transfer window.

The Tractor Boys have been talked up as a dark horse for promotion and this trip to Wearside should provide an early test of their credentials.

RadioTimes.com has rounded up everything you need to know about how to watch Sunderland v Ipswich on TV and online.
