The iconic current affairs series Dispatches from Channel 4 will soon be returning to our screens.
Debuting on our screens in 1987, Dispatches covers all sorts of topics that impact society, related to topics including politics, religion, health concerns, international relations, and many more.
The show often utilises investigative journalism to offer a detailed insight into its subject matter, with each episode or set of episodes forming a documentary on this.
The Channel 4 current affairs show has won numerous awards across its run, including the British Academy Television Awards and the British Academy Television Craft Awards
Its most recently nominated instalment was for the 2021 film titled “The Battle for Hong Kong” which received a BAFTA Television Awards nomination for Best Current Affairs in 2021, while its last win was in 2019 for “Myanmar’s Killing Fields”.

When is Dispatches next on Channel 4?
The next instalment of Dispatches will air on Saturday 16th September 2023 at 9pm on Channel 4.
This episode will run for 90 minutes and conclude at 10.30pm.
The episode will be repeated at 10.50pm on Channel 4 the following night.
The documentary will also be shown on the channel’s on-demand companion service, formerly titled All4 and 4oD.
What is the next episode of Dispatches about?
At present, the next episode of Dispatches’ subject matter has yet to be confirmed.
It is currently being dubbed a ‘Dispatches Special’ and is 90 minutes in length.
Channel 4 News lead anchor Krishnan Guru-Murthy posted on X, formerly Twitter, to promote the episode – though this post was later deleted.
However, due to the investigative nature of the programme, the series sometimes does not confirm the subject matter of its episodes until close to transmission and this can be due to legal or other journalistic reasons.
