The twelve glittering queens ready to dazzle on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK with their series three debut have been revealed – including a familiar face preparing for her comeback.

Veronica Green will be returning to the show after dropping out of series two when she tested positive for COVID.

“It was a big blow, BUT thankfully I received an open invitation from Mama Ru to come back for series three – and I wasn’t gonna turn that down!” she told the BBC. “I’m hoping that as I’m not a newbie, the second time around will give me an advantage. I’m having the time of my life all over again. I love it!”

She thinks she has what it takes to be crowned the UK’s Next Drag Race Superstar, having proved she’s “a heavy weight contender” with the judges describing her as a triple threat and the fact she’s already won herself a badge.

“I was SUPPOSED to win Drag Race UK season two,” she continued. “And if you don’t crown me this time Ru, I’m going to come back again. Another variant of Veronica Green… I’m not joking. Just keep bringing me back.”

But will Veronica be able to beat the competition that lies in wait from the other Drag Race UK contestants? Here’s everything you need to know below.

Strengths: Describing herself as a quadruple threat, Veronica could be one to watch this series. “I put a lot of effort into looking beautiful, and I can sing, dance and act. And I’m a quadruple threat, as I am really good at sewing too. My mum’s a professional seamstress, and she’s taught me a few techniques, so should any design challenge that comes my way. I’m feeling confident. I’m pretty much confident in everything! Also, I cope well in high-pressure environments. Get the job done! That’s my motto for life.”

Weaknesses: Like others, there is one game that she is a tad nervous about. “Well actually, I’m nervous for Snatch Game. I don’t do celebrity impressions! I’m terrible at accents and I’m not very good at thinking on my feet, so I’m worried about challenges”

What led Veronica to drag? “My background is musical theatre, I’ve been in Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat for about five years out of the past 10, but ultimately, I found musical theatre too restrictive for my hopes and aspirations.”

Who is Veronica Green?

Veronica has a background in musical theatre and has been a professional singer and actor for the past fifteen years. After struggling with an improv challenge in series two, she’s been working on her comedy and improv, saying: “I will not be taken by surprise by an improv challenge again! I am multi-talented, it’s just a case of getting it right on the day. There’s lots of things I can do. I hesitate to use the phrase, Jack and Jill of all trades, master of none. Because I trained to be on this show. I knew was going to come, so I learned to sew for the show. And so putting those skills to the test in situ is exciting but terrifying at the same time.”

Where did the name Veronica Green come from?

“I love my sister – I stole her name, she is the inspiration for me and my outfits, and she’s had to fend off all of her work colleagues, asking for my autograph and video messages. Veronica’s had a bit of second-hand fame too, which she loves. My whole family has been so supportive, I couldn’t ask for more of them.”
