When Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was first revealed, players quickly noticed that the game takes place largely from a first-person perspective. As in, you see the action through Indy’s eyes, rather than watching over his shoulder.

This creative decision wouldn’t come as a big surprise to anyone that has been following its developers, MachineGames, over the last few years. Their famous Wolfenstein series is also shown from a first-person point of view.

But why did they decide to stick with that first-person view for their Indy game? Thanks to the official Xbox podcast, which published a deep-dive discussion of the game after the Xbox Showcase, we now have an answer to that question!

You can see the exact answer at 16:09 in the video version of the podcast, which we’ve embedded below. We’ve also typed it up for you underneath.
