Those wishing for a bright and cheerful setting like that of Genshin Impact might be a little disheartened to learn that Zenless Zone Zero is set in a post-apocalyptic urban world.
Don’t worry, though, it shares a similar anime-inspired art style with colourful graphics and flashy attacks aplenty.

When is the Zenless Zone Zero release date?
The Zenless Zone Zero release date is Thursday 4th July 2024, the developers have confirmed.
Let’s hope the long wait for the latest HoYoverse game has been worth it and its full global release version lives up to the promise of the beta versions.
When is the Zenless Zone Zero release time in the UK?
The Zenless Zone Zero UK release time is 3am on Thursday 4th July, it has been confirmed.
You can wake up early on Thursday morning in the knowledge that you can begin playing Zenless Zone Zero.
For our American cousins across the pond, meanwhile, the Zenless Zone Zero launch time is 7pm PT/10pm ET on Wednesday 3rd July.
Can I pre-order Zenless Zone Zero?
You cannot pre-order Zenless Zone Zero as it is a free-to-play digital download. Instead, you can pre-download the game.
Pre-download the game now on whatever platform you wish to play and it’ll be ready for you to start playing as soon as it launches!

Which consoles and platforms can play Zenless Zone Zero?
Zenless Zone Zero is available to download and play on PC, iOS, Android and PS5.
As of writing, there is no Xbox or Switch version, nor can you play it on PS4.

Zenless Zone Zero gameplay and story details
Unlike previous HoYoverse titles, Zenless Zone Zero looks like it’ll be implementing rogue-like elements. This replaces the the open-world structure of Genshin.
However, the combat looks very similar it its 2020 spiritual predecessor, so at least fans will be familiar with the nitty gritties.
The whole gameplay loop seems to centre around jumping into mysterious holes in the ground, and defeating the monsters within…

Which brings us to the story: Set in a post-apocalyptic world in which most of humanity has been wiped out, the plot takes place in the city of New Eridu. The aforementioned holes in the ground that our protagonists will explore are called “Hollows”, and it’s a safe bet that they have something to do with the apocalypse.
