<\/p>
Despite an overwhelming appetite from viewers for more, it\u2019s unclear at this stage if Line of Duty<\/a> will return for another season following that<\/em> season 6 finale.<\/p>\n Mercurio has previously said there were \u201cno plans\u201d to continue AC-12\u2019s story, though the series\u2019 record-breaking ratings and its keen cast might convince him otherwise.<\/p>\n Adrian Dunbar, aka AC-12\u2019s \u2018gaffer\u2019 Ted Hastings, recently hinted that the H drama might not be entirely wrapped up<\/a>. And now, Vicky McClure (Kate Fleming) has revealed the cast is \u201cgame\u201d for another season.<\/p>\n Speaking to The Guardian<\/a>, McClure stressed \u201cthere\u2019s no word\u201d about a seventh season as yet. However, she went on to say that \u201cshould [another season] happen, we\u2019re all game\u201d.<\/p>\n The Trigger Point<\/a> star added: \u201cI\u2019ll just stick with the guys. I think when it comes to a close, it will be a natural close for us all. And we\u2019re very close with Jed, so it\u2019s not a business transaction, do you know what I mean? This isn\u2019t business, this is our lives and we\u2019ve all created careers from it, and we\u2019ve all got a lot out of it.\u201d<\/p> McClure also said that she \u201ccan\u2019t imagine\u201d her life without co-stars Dunbar and Martin Compston (who plays Steve Arnott). \u201cIt\u2019s like, well, at least I get to be with my mates for four months of the year,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n Despite season 6 potentially not being Line of Duty\u2019s last, McClure did acknowledge that it would come to an end eventually.<\/p>\n She explained: \u201cBut, you know, everything comes to an end, and everything\u2019s got a shelf life. So when that natural end is, is when it is. I\u2019m just loyal to that. I can\u2019t see me going, \u2018I\u2019m done, I\u2019ve got a better job, I\u2019m off,\u2019 because what\u2019s better than Line of Duty?\u201d<\/p>\n Vicky McClure returns in Trigger Point on ITV on Sunday 23rd January at 9pm<\/a>, while <\/b>Line of Duty is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
