Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe is expanding his repertoire of characters to include \u2018Weird Al\u2019 Yankovic.<\/p>\n
Radcliffe (who has also starred in the likes of The Woman in Black, Swiss Army Man and Guns Akimbo) is set to portray the Grammy-winning musician and pop culture favourite \u2018Weird Al\u2019 in a new Roku original comedy.<\/p>\n
According to the synopsis, the biopic \u201cholds nothing back, exploring every facet of Yankovic\u2019s life, from his meteoric rise to fame with early hits like \u2018Eat It\u2019 and \u2018Like a Surgeon\u2019 to his torrid celebrity love affairs and famously depraved lifestyle\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n The synopsis continues: \u201cWEIRD: The Al<\/span>\u00a0Yankovic Story\u00a0takes audiences on a truly unbelievable journey through Yankovic\u2019s life and career, from gifted child prodigy to the greatest musical legend of\u00a0al<\/span>l time.\u201d<\/span><\/p> Speaking about the film, which begins production next month, Yankovic said: \u201cWhen my last movie UHF came out in 1989, I made a solemn vow to my fans that I would release a major motion picture every 33 years, like clockwork. I\u2019m very happy to say we\u2019re on schedule.<\/span><\/p>\n And I am absolutely thrilled that Daniel Radcliffe will be portraying me in the film.
