<\/p>
The role of James Bond is the hottest vacancy in Hollywood following Daniel Craig\u2019s final appearance as the iconic spy in No Time to Die<\/a>.<\/p>\n James Bond 26<\/a> will see a new actor take up the 007 mantle, with Craig\u2019s version of the character having exited with a bang in the latest instalment of the long-running movie franchise.<\/p>\n Executive producer Barbara Broccoli and her half-brother Michael G Wilson are the two key people charged with the responsibility of picking the next Bond \u2013 and it\u2019s certainly not a task they take lightly.<\/p>\n Broccoli has been vocal about their desire to let Craig\u2019s Bond have a proper send-off before turning their attention to who replaces him, but that hasn\u2019t stopped fans delving deep into discussions about rumours of a number of big-name potential candidates.<\/p>\n Speaking to Deadline\u2019s Crew Call<\/a> podcast, Broccoli has now admitted, however, that Luther star Idris Elba is one of the aforementioned names which have been \u201cpart of the conversation\u201d the producers have been having about who takes over from Craig.<\/p>\n \u201cWell, we know Idris, we\u2019re friends with him, and he\u2019s a magnificent actor,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd, you know, it\u2019s been part of the conversation, but it\u2019s always difficult to have the conversation when you have someone in the seat.\u201d<\/p> Reiterating that they\u2019re in no rush to fill the position, Broccoli continued: \u201cI think we have decided that until No Time to Die has had its run and Daniel has been able to \u2013 well, we\u2019ve all been able to savour, reap the benefits of Daniel\u2019s wonderful tenure, we\u2019re not gonna think about, or talk about anybody else.\u201d<\/p>\n She might be keeping her cards close to her chest for now, but the revelation that Elba \u2013 a hot favourite for the job with many fans \u2013 is on the radar for consideration is a big one.<\/p>\n If you\u2019re looking for more to watch, check out our TV Guide<\/a>.
