After a long wait, Peaky Blinders<\/a>\u2018 final season will land later this year, with Cillian Murphy\u2019s Tommy Shelby set to face enemies old and new.<\/p>\n

As well as\u00a0 Sir Oswald Mosley (Sam Claflin)<\/a>, the Shelbys will contend with Tom Hardy\u2019s Alfie Solomons and a mysterious new character played by Stephen Graham<\/a>, though we don\u2019t know at this stage whether he\u2019ll be friend or foe.<\/p>\n

Sadly, Shelby clan matriarch Aunt Polly will not be appearing in the season, as actress Helen McCrory passed away from cancer last April.<\/p>\n

Murphy, who has played the Birmingham gang leader turned politician for six seasons, spoke to Empire Magazine<\/a> about how the new episodes are a \u201cbrilliant tribute\u201d to the late actress.<\/p>

\u201cWhat I always feel sad about is that we were about to shoot and then the pandemic happened and we had to stop,\u201d the actor said. \u201cIf we had shot then, Helen would\u2019ve been in the show, and that makes me feel sad.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cIt\u2019s a huge loss; it\u2019s hard to comprehend it. Because she was the matriarch of the whole thing. As the character, but just also as her personality. But she\u2019s still present in series 6.\u201d<\/p>\n

Murphy went on to explain how creator Steven Knight had \u201cmanaged to keep her very, very present, which I think is a brilliant tribute to Steve and also to Helen. But we couldn\u2019t quite fathom it all as we were making it, you know?\u201d<\/p>\n
