<\/p>
ITV\u2019s major new drama Trigger Point<\/a> got off to an explosive start last night \u2013 and the first episode didn\u2019t pull any punches when it came to delivering shock moments.<\/p>\n At the end of the episode, Adrian Lester\u2019s character Joel Nutkins was dramatically killed off<\/a>, after being caught in the blast of the sudden detonation of a nearby explosive device.<\/p>\n It was a shocking way to start the series \u2013 but according to a RadioTimes.com<\/a> poll, more than two-thirds of viewers said they saw the twist coming.<\/p>\n We asked our readers on Twitter to give their opinions on whether the death took them by surprise, and of the 200 people who participated, 68 per cent said they had already predicted Joel wasn\u2019t going to make it to the end of the episode.<\/p>\n One Twitter user replied: \u201cIt was building to that when Joel said \u2018wait a minute\u2026\u2019 then went over without his protection on\u2026 Surely bomb disposal experts wouldn\u2019t do that?\u201d<\/p> Meanwhile, some viewers admitted to still jumping at the explosion even though they weren\u2019t altogether surprised.<\/p>\n \u201cI was worried Adrian wouldn\u2019t make it to the end of the episode, but still jumped at the bang,\u201d said one, while another added: \u201cSlow burning, could see that coming with the decoys but still made you jump. Interesting to see where the show can go in the next episode. Time will tell.
