We still don\u2019t know who the next\u00a0Doctor Who<\/a> will be, but we can definitely rule out It\u2019s A Sin star Olly Alexander.<\/p>\n Last year, the actor and singer made headlines in 2021 when it was rumoured he would be taking over from Jodie Whittaker. Despite strongly denying the claims, fans have since hoped he might reconsider.<\/p>\n It doesn\u2019t seem likely, at least judging by a chat Alexander had on Lorraine on Tuesday morning. But the Starstruck singer did offer a glimmer of hope when he said it would be amazing to appear as a guest star \u2013 in a rather unusual role.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019d love to play like a sexy witch, you know with magic powers,\u201d he told Lorraine.<\/p>\n He added: \u201cIt would be amazing but I\u2019m definitely not the Doctor. But I love the show and I can\u2019t wait to watch it when it gets rebooted.\u201d<\/p> Alexander also said he wouldn\u2019t mind playing a Bond baddie \u201cwith a cat\u201d or Marvel villain next.<\/p>\n \u201cSomething with all the special effects and a crazy outfit,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Though he\u2019s definitely not the Fourteenth Doctor, another It\u2019s A Sin cast member could take on regeneration duties instead, with Whittaker herself\u2019s blessing: Lydia West.<\/p>\n Even Russell T Davies, who is set to reprise showrunner duties on Doctor Who after its 2022 specials, responded to Whittaker, saying he had noted her comments<\/a>.<\/p>\n Doctor Who returns to BBC One this spring with Legend of the Sea Devils.
