In September 2021, 22-year-old Gabby Petito was reported missing by her family in September after she embarked on a \u201cdream\u201d cross-country trip with her fianc\u00e9 Brian Laundrie back in June.<\/p>\n
Laundrie had returned to the couple\u2019s North Port, Florida, home in early September, however, he wasn\u2019t with Petito, and roughly two weeks later, he disappeared, sparking a weeks-long search for him.<\/p>\n
Days into the search for Laundrie, authorities discovered Petito\u2019s remains in Wyoming and a coroner ruled her cause of death\u00a0to be strangulation.<\/p>\n
Local and federal authorities later revealed they\u2019d found Laundrie\u2019s remains after searching through a 25,000-acre reserve in Florida. A medical examiner ruled he died by suicide. According to the FBI, authorities found a notebook near the scene, in which Laundrie claimed responsibility for Petito\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

This was the day of her last Instagram post.<\/p>\n27th August 2021 \u2013<\/strong> A Louisiana couple vacationing in Jackson, Wyoming, said they saw Petito and Laundrie involved in a \u201ccommotion\u201d as they were leaving the Merry Piglets Tex-Mex restaurant.<\/p>\n30th August 2021 \u2013<\/strong> Gabby\u2019s mum received texts from her daughter \u2013 however, she said she couldn\u2019t be certain if they were sent by her.<\/p>\nShe said: \u201cI did receive a text from her on the 27th and the 30th, but I don\u2019t know if it was technically her or not, because it was just a text. I didn\u2019t verbally speak to her.\u201d<\/p>\n
