Jodie Whittaker and showrunner Chris Chibnall\u2019s Doctor Who<\/a> tenures are approaching their conclusions, with just two further specials to come before the next chapter of the BBC\u2019s long-running sci-fi series begins.<\/p>\n Thirteen will bow out in a special episode airing later this year which will air as part of the BBC\u2019s centenary celebrations.<\/p>\n In a new interview with Doctor Who Magazine<\/a>, outgoing executive producer Matt Strevens gave an update on the production process, revealing all Whittaker\u2019s episodes are now locked.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m still around,\u201d he told the publication in early January. \u201cI\u2019ll probably pop back for a bit of post-production, but all the specials are locked and, by and large, I\u2019ve left now.<\/p>\n \u201cI did a little walk around our sound stages, on my own,\u201d Strevens added. \u201cThe TARDIS had gone, our big stage was empty, there was no one around\u2026 It was really weird. It\u2019s like you\u2019re going round switching off the lights for the last time. I felt a bit like Eric Morecambe \u2013 walking across the back of the stage, with the raincoat and the carrier bag.\u201d<\/p> The executive producer went on to express his sense of pride and achievement in having \u201cseen an era and a Doctor through\u201d, adding: \u201cTo go from filming Jodie\u2019s reveal \u2013 the moment where she pulled back the hood \u2013 to being with her on set when she said her final lines\u2026 It was very moving, actually.\u201d<\/p>\n Colin Baker, Bonnie Langford and Russell T Davies reveal a new adventure for the Sixth Doctor!
