The Walking Dead<\/span>\u2018s heroes have faced off against a whole bunch of memorable villains in the 11 years that the zombie drama has been on television. From David Morrissey\u2019s The Governor and Samantha Morton\u2019s Alpha to Jeffrey Dean Morgan\u2019s Negan, each has terrorised Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon and the gang in ways those pesky, decomposing walkers could only dream of.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While the first chapter of the show\u2019s three-part final season saw Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and co fight the violent Reapers, the second \u2013 which premieres on AMC in the US on 20th February, before kicking off on Disney+ in the UK the following \u2013 is set to introduce <\/span>The Boys<\/span>\u2019 Laila Robins as Pamela Milton, a baddie who showrunner Angela Kang tells <\/span>RadioTimes.com<\/a> is unlike \u201canybody our people have dealt with in the past\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

Based on Robert Kirkman\u2019s creation from the Walking Dead<\/a> graphic novels, politician Pamela\u2019s life prior to the outbreak was never fully detailed in the source material, so Kang and her fellow writers gave her an interesting backstory: she\u2019s the daughter of a former president.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cShe grew up in a wealthy, connected family that has a political legacy,\u201d she explains of the character, who\u2019s governor of the Commonwealth, the biggest community our survivors have encountered so far. \u201cConnie (Lauren Ridloff), who was, as you know, a hard-hitting journalist once crossed Pamela\u2019s relatives before.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u201cSo if you think of any political dynasty that\u2019s in the United States, that\u2019s kind of what we\u2019re drawing on for her. Somebody who\u2019s always been part of that world and until the apocalypse, didn\u2019t really want to be in politics. But she was sort of born into it, right? She can handle a gun too. She\u2019s from one of <\/span>those<\/span><\/i> families.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Her right-hand man is Lance Hornsby (Josh Hamilton), \u201ca fixer\u201d we\u2019ve met already, whose beginnings were a far-cry from his boss\u2019s. \u201cHe knows how to make things move and shake, and get things done,\u201d says Kang.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHe makes sure that things are running smoothly. We think Lance, unlike Pamela, actually comes from modest means, but he has a very long-standing relationship with the Milton family, which we\u2019ll learn more about as time goes on. But, yeah, they\u2019re two people who actually do a lot of different things when they\u2019re in the Commonwealth. Beyond that, I don\u2019t want to spoil what happens next.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In the comics, Pamela is a complex figure who flip-flops between being compassionate and antagonistic towards Michonne, Eugene and the other Alexandrians who eventually find themselves inside the Commonwealth\u2019s walls. The jury\u2019s still out, however, on whether she\u2019ll exhibit that same duality in the show, or whether she\u2019ll be more of an out-and-out meanie.<\/span><\/p>\n
