{"id":11190,"date":"2022-02-14T17:29:19","date_gmt":"2022-02-14T16:29:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/?p=1584276"},"modified":"2022-02-14T18:02:08","modified_gmt":"2022-02-14T17:02:08","slug":"nope-release-date-cast-and-teaser-trailer-for-jordan-peeles-latest-movie","status":"publish","type":"rss_feed","link":"https:\/\/c01.purpledshub.com\/radiotimes\/rss_feed\/nope-release-date-cast-and-teaser-trailer-for-jordan-peeles-latest-movie\/","title":{"rendered":"Nope: Release date, cast and teaser trailer for Jordan Peele\u2019s latest movie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"rssexcerpt\"><\/p><p class=\"rssauthor\">By Patrick Cremona\n                \t\t<\/p><p class=\"rssbyline\">Published: Monday, 14 February 2022 at 12:00 am<\/p><hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/><?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\" standalone=\"yes\"?>\n<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC \"-\/\/W3C\/\/DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional\/\/EN\" \"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/REC-html40\/loose.dtd\">\n<html><body><p>It\u2019s hard to think of a director in recent times who\u2019s made as much of an impact with his first two features as Jordan Peele.<\/p>\n<p>Both his Oscar-winning horror satire Get Out and his exhilarating follow-up Us caused quite a storm on their releases in 2017 and 2019 respectively, and so naturally, hopes are extraordinarily high for Peele\u2019s third feature, which will arrive in cinemas later this year.<\/p>\n<p>And with a <a href=\"&quot;https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/movies\/nope-trailer-jordan-peele-newsupdate\/&quot;\">tantalising teaser trailer having just been released<\/a> it seems that anticipation is only going to grow further between now and the eventual release, especially given the extremely intriguing title and tremendous cast.<\/p>\n<p>Read on for all the latest details about Nope.<\/p> <h2><strong>Nope release date<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>While many details about the film are being kept under wraps at this stage, we <em>do<\/em> know when it will debut in cinemas.<\/p>\n<p>A release date of <strong>Friday 22nd July<\/strong> has been confirmed by Universal \u2013 right at the height of summer blockbuster season.<\/p>\n<h2>Nope cast<\/h2>\n<p>Daniel Kaluuya earned his first Oscar nomination for his lead role in Peele\u2019s debut Get Out, so it\u2019s no surprise to see him reteam with the director for another collaboration.<\/p>\n<p>He will star alongside Minari\u2019s Steven Yeun and Hustlers star Keke Palmer in the new film, but few details about the characters the trio are playing have been released so far \u2013 beyond their names and a few clues from the trailer.<\/p>\n<p>Kaluuya and Palmer\u2019s characters are named James Haywood and Jill Haywood \u2013 suggesting they could be a married couple or possibly siblings, while the trailer sees Jill refer to their business Haywood Ranch as \u201cthe only Black-owned horse trainers in Hollywood\u201d. Meanwhile Yeun plays a character called Brian.<\/p>\n<p>The cast also includes Michael Wincott (24: Live Another Day), Brandon Perea (The OA), Barbie Ferreira (Euphoria) and Terry Notary \u2013 who is known for his motion-capture performances in films including Avatar, The\u00a0Planet of the Apes\u00a0reboot series, and\u00a0The Hobbit trilogy.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Nope plot speculation<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>At present, specific plot details for the film have not been revealed \u2013 but it is being billed as a science-fiction neo-western horror that follows residents of an isolated town who witness a mysterious and abnormal event.<\/p>\n<p>A few more plot details could be gleaned from the recent trailer, especially that it appears to take place largely at Haywood Ranch, the family business owned by James and Jill Haywood which appears to specialise in horse training for movies.<\/p>\n<p>Should more plot details come to light between now and release, we\u2019ll post the latest updates here.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Nope trailer<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The first trailer for the new film aired at the 2022 Super Bowl, having debuted earlier that day when Jordan Peele posted it to his Twitter account.<\/p>\n<p>The eerie two-minute clip briefly introduces us to some of the key characters and teases the onset of an intriguing event \u2013 as the electricity goes out and an ominous cloud appears in the sky, with Kaluuya\u2019s character seen asking: \u201cWhat\u2019s a bad miracle?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>You can watch the trailer \u2013 which closes with Palmer\u2019s character being launched into the sky \u2013 below:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"&quot;twitter-tweet&quot;\" data-dnt=\"&quot;true&quot;\"><p lang=\"&quot;en&quot;\" dir=\"&quot;ltr&quot;\">What\u2019s a bad miracle? <a href=\"&quot;https:\/\/t.co\/x37K3Inwk7&quot;\">pic.twitter.com\/x37K3Inwk7<\/a><\/p>\u2014 Jordan Peele (@JordanPeele) <a href=\"&quot;https:\/\/twitter.com\/JordanPeele\/status\/1492770521049550851?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw&quot;\">February 13, 2022<\/a><\/blockquote><script async=\"\" src=\"&quot;https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js&quot;\" charset=\"&quot;utf-8&quot;\"\/><div class=\"&quot;editor-content\" mb-lg=\"\" hidden-print=\"\" js-piano-locked-content=\"\">\n<p><strong>Nope arrives in cinemas on 22nd July.
