Speaking ahead of season 7, which arrives next month, Green revealed that Geordie is \u201clost\u201d without the \u201csafety net of family\u201d, and that he\u2019s \u201cback to square one and almost a bachelor again\u201d.<\/p>\n
Green explained that following the dramatic end to season 6, Geordie has been living with Will at the vicarage, but things haven\u2019t been entirely light and breezy in that set-up either.<\/p>\n
He said\u201d \u201cHe is a shadow of his former self, he\u2019s like a fish out of water. There\u2019s a lot of scope for odd couple behaviour \u2013 Tom is definitely Jack Lemmon and Geordie is Walter Matthau.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a very simple tale for Geordie, a long time ago he met the love of his life in Cathy, then he lost her and now he has to try and win her back.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe one person Geordie seeks advice from, who he shouldn\u2019t seek advice from is Will,\u201d he explained. \u201cThere\u2019s a funny irony being played out throughout the series. Geordie is also giving Will relationship advice when his own marriage is falling apart.\u201d<\/p>
