Could an idyllic French apartment provide enough enticement to commit murder? That\u2019s the theory Antoine Verlaque, Investigating Judge in Aix-en-Provence, examines in an exclusive new clip from Murder in Provence.<\/p>\n

Based on the books by ML Longworth, BritBox<\/a>\u2018s cosy crime drama Murder in Provence stars Endeavour<\/a> actor Roger Allam in the lead role of Antoine, alongside Nancy Carroll (The Crown<\/a>) as his\u00a0romantic partner Marine Bonnet.<\/p>\n

Together, the couple \u201cinvestigate the murders, mysteries and dark underbelly of their idyllic home\u201d, their efforts aided by H\u00e9l\u00e8ne (The Greatest Showman\u2019s Keala Settle), a detective and Antoine\u2019s trusted confidante.<\/p>\n

In the clip released exclusively by RadioTimes.com<\/a>, Antoine and H\u00e9l\u00e8ne explore the opulent apartment (\u201cThis was the prize they all wanted\u201d), where all is not as it seems, with peeling wallpaper and widespread disrepair suggesting that its owner\u2019s finances were in poor shape.<\/p>\n\nThe viewer also learns more about the enigmatic Antoine, who reveals that he grew up in a similarly lavish apartment, this time in Paris.
