When is the Pok\u00e9mon<\/a>\u00a0Scarlet and Violet release date? Now that these next mainline games have been revealed for Nintendo and Game Freak\u2019s critter catching franchise, that\u2019s the question on everyone\u2019s lips.<\/p>\n

It has been a busy time for fans of the long-running and ever popular Pok\u00e9mon franchise. We have just had Pokemon Legends: Arceus<\/a> which served as a Pok\u00e9mon prequel, and it was not too long ago that we had the remake of Pok\u00e9mon Brilliant Diamond and Pok\u00e9mon Shining Pearl.<\/p>\n

But the fun does not stop there and we have another brand new Pok\u00e9mon adventure coming later this year \u2013 and this looks like another one fans should get super excited about.<\/p>\n

But what should we expect from Pok\u00e9mon Scarlet and Violet, and when do we get to play it? Here is all we know so far about the next big Pokemon adventure!<\/p>\n

Pok\u00e9mon Scarlet and Violet release date<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Pok\u00e9mon Scarlet and Violet will take place in late 2022<\/strong>, Nintendo has promised, but the developers haven\u2019t given us a more precise estimate as of yet.<\/p>\n

If we had to make a prediction, we\u2019d speculate that November 2022 has a nice ring to it, but we\u2019ll be sure to let you know when official sources announce their intentions.<\/p>\n

Can I pre-order Pok\u00e9mon Scarlet and Violet?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Not yet! With no release date confirmed, the pre-orders for Pok\u00e9mon Scarlet and Violet are not yet active, but it is unlikely to be long before they are. We\u2019ll add the all-important links right here as soon as we have them.<\/p>

Which platforms and consoles can play Pok\u00e9mon Scarlet and Violet?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In news that should come as a surprise to nobody, you will need to be the proud owner of a Nintendo Switch if you want to play this \u2013 that\u2019s because Pok\u00e9mon Scarlet and Violet will be released exclusively on Nintendo Switch consoles, much like every other AAA Pok\u00e9mon release since that console was launched.<\/p>\n

We\u2019d expect the game\u2019s luscious landscapes to look particularly good on the incoming Nintendo Switch OLED<\/a>, but it\u2019ll also work on older Switch models as well as the Switch Lite.<\/p>\n

Pok\u00e9mon Scarlet and Violet gameplay<\/strong><\/h2>\n

As is standard in Pok\u00e9mon games, a new gimmick is set to be launched for Pok\u00e9mon Scarlet and Violet, and this is one that Game Freak has been working towards for years.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re talking about the fact that Scarlet and Violet will be fully<\/em> open world, which is an exciting first for the franchise. Areas are not cut off from each other and you can traverse the landscape from one part of the map to another \u2013 with fun things to see and do while you are on your way.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith these new titles, the Pok\u00e9mon series takes a new evolutionary step, allowing you to explore freely in a richly expressed open world,\u201d is what has officially been said on this front and it is a welcome change.<\/p>\n

Fans around the web, inspired by the game\u2019s trailer, have latched onto the idea that Pok\u00e9mon Scarlet and Violet could take place in a region that\u2019s inspired by Spain and\/or Portugal, but that hasn\u2019t been confirmed officially as of right now.<\/p>\n

As for battles, it seems that they are being kept in line with how they were in Pok\u00e9mon Legends Arceus, which should be welcome news to those that have played it.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve got a soft spot for Fuecoco right now, but we might reserve judgement until we see what their final evolutions end up looking like.<\/p>\n
