<\/p>
This week marks the long-awaited release of Matt Reeves\u2019 new take on The Batman<\/a>, which sees Robert Pattinson star as an especially moody version of The Caped Crusader as he comes up against Paul Dano\u2019s menacing Riddler.<\/p>\n The film has already received some strong reviews, and according to producer Dylan Clark, there\u2019s one scene he\u2019s particularly keen to see the fan reaction to.<\/p>\n In an exclusive interview with RadioTimes.com<\/a>, Clark said the movie\u2019s Batmobile Chase is a highlight, in part because there was so much pressure when it came to shooting it.<\/p>\n \u201cThe level of pressure on delivering a Batmobile Chase is immense,\u201d he explained. \u201c[Chrstopher] Nolan, Zack [Snyder], you know, everybody has done this. These guys are just great directors, and they\u2019ve done this movie so well \u2013 but those Batmobile chases, in particular, are excellent.<\/p>\n \u201cSo we really wanted to make something that just stood out in a big way. And it\u2019s meant for the big screen, it\u2019s meant for, you know\u2026 I want the audience to just go, \u2018You guys nailed that thing\u2019 and tell us loudly that that moves them. So that\u2019s the sequence for me.\u201d<\/p> Speaking more generally about the challenges of making a Batman movie, Clark explained that the impressive history behind the franchise can be both a blessing and a curse \u2013 and can make the whole thing a little daunting.<\/p>\n \u201cAnytime you read the sentence, 80 years of one character, it\u2019s a challenge,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s humbling. It\u2019s terrifying. But once you sit back and you think it through, and you ask yourself, could you find a new way in, it\u2019s an honour.<\/p>\n \u201cI mean, Batman is just one of those things that lives inside of us forever. And it\u2019s our jobs as filmmakers to find that unique way in, and also deliver the things that movie-going audiences want. This is at the end of the day supposed to be great escapist entertainment, to see something on the big screen that you just can\u2019t at home.<\/p>\n \u201cBut you also want it to be something more because of Batman\u2019s legacy, that 80 years says to us you\u2019ve got to really be ambitious and give a story that\u2019s also about something, that has emotion, has thematic resonance in this world, that scares you.<\/p>\n \u201cSo I\u2019m so excited that we\u2019re at this place where very shortly the world will see it. And my hope is that they\u2019ll recognise our ambition.\u201d<\/p>\n The Batman is in UK cinemas now.
